As a designer there are some legal issues that may occur if you do not follow some Ethical and Legal work practices in your work. One of the biggest ones is copyright and plagiarism or using work that is not your own. You have to be careful especially with images and photographs. You must get permission or buy stock before being able to use other peoples work or images or you can get into a lot of trouble with copyright issues. There are other rules you should also follow like showing admiration to other designers in fair and open competition and avoiding conflict of interest etc. but copyright is probably the most important issue.
